SOCIAL DESIGN STUDIO

Designing beyond sports statistics

The DraftKings Social Design Studio was created to elevate our Instagram feed visually and conceptually. I created a calendar with important days and events in sports, pop culture and more that informed our content. As the art director, I worked closely with our incredible designers to tie in each concept and push beyond just another sports graphic. Each of our single posts and series tells a story and pushes the boundaries of what sports brands typically post.

BRADY RETURNS TO GILETTE

For Tom’s Brady’s first game back in Foxborough, we played up all the Boston stereotypes. It was inspired by historical events like Washington Crossing the Delaware, Paul Revere warning “The British are Coming” and Tom Brady tossing the Lombardi trophy from his boat, plus a number of New England-themed easter eggs.

THE LAST CHANCE SALOON

The final game of the NFL regular season featured two bullet-slingers in a shootout so this western-themed post showcased all the fallen QBs that didn’t make it to the final duel.

SUNDAY SCARIES

To kick off the first Sunday of the NFL season, we created a new spin on the Sunday scaries. Featuring some of the most intimidating players in the league. I also hand-lettered the title “Sunday Scaries.”

Women’s History Month

In sports, the accomplishments of women are often forgotten or overshadowed. To forge ahead in our fight for equity, it’s vital to celebrate the impact of the incredible female athletes, coaches, referees, and beyond who have helped change the game on and off the field. That’s what we set out to do in our Women’s History Month social media campaign. And not with just one post, but four. Each week we honored the achievements of a diverse group of inspirational women. We aimed to educate our followers and show our appreciation for all they had done in sports and in the fight for gender, LGBTQ+, racial, social, and equity for persons with disabilities.
